Digital Amnesia Dan Praktik Belajar Digital Pelajar Gen Z: Studi Deskriptif Awal Berbasis Survei Terbatas

This study aimed to describe the tendency of digital amnesia in Gen Z students’ digital learning practices, particularly in relation to information retention, material comprehension, and learning concentration. This preliminary descriptive study used a questionnaire-based design involving 12 Gen Z students who actively used the internet for learning activities. The data were analyzed using frequencies, percentages, means, and narrative interpretation without inferential testing. The findings showed that the respondents had a high intensity of internet use for searching learning materials. Some respondents reported a tendency to forget information because they felt it could be retrieved digitally, difficulty remembering information obtained from the internet compared with books or notes, and dependence on internet access in learning activities. These findings cannot be generalized, but they indicate the need for digital learning strategies that balance online information searching with active note-taking, repetition, source evaluation, and independent retrieval practice.
