This study aimed to describe the role of LINE Webtoon in students' reading interest at SMA Negeri 3 Penajam Paser Utara as part of digital and visual literacy practices. This research employed a preliminary descriptive questionnaire-based design involving 50 students who had used LINE Webtoon. Data were collected through Google Forms consisting of closed-ended and open-ended questions and were analyzed using frequencies, percentages, and narrative interpretation of open-response themes. The findings showed that 17 students (34%) read LINE Webtoon regularly, either every day or several times a week, while 33 students (66%) read it several times a month or rarely. The main attractions of LINE Webtoon included engaging storylines, colorful visuals, free access, diverse genres, and regular story updates. A total of 38 students (76%) perceived LINE Webtoon as having a strong or moderate role in encouraging their reading habits. These findings are not intended as causal evidence, but suggest that digital comics may serve as a literacy bridge aligned with adolescents' reading practices when used selectively, reflectively, and in balance with other reading materials.
